For the final model, I decided to build a MAC-10 style weapon. These were the schematics which were in-game screenshots taken from Counter-Strike.
In Counter-Strike, the game has a feature which allows you to inspect weapons in-game.I was able to get screenshots of the weapon at different angles.
What have I learned from these screenshots:
From these images, I have learnt about some of the basic shapes and techniques which I might use when producing my model.
I feel that I will be able to use cubes at different scales for different parts of the gun, such as the handle and main body section. I could use a cylinder for the gun barrel.
For the pipes at the back of the weapon, I could draw a 2D curve, and extrude it into a 3D object.
I could use the boolean difference tool to allow me to cut out shapes, such as drawing the circular gap at the rear of the gun.
